Naftalie is the founder of the Living Memories Foundation ("Stichting Levende Herinneringen"). Within the Foundation, Naftalie specializes in audiovisual cultural heritage and oral history. The Living Memories Foundation aims at preserving culture and history by establishing oral history projects. Currently the Foundation executes a project about Indonesian culture and history and another project connected to Steven Spielberg's "Shoah Survivor" project. Within the Indonesian project the Foundation interviews hundreds of people about their memories of Indonesia before the independency, when the country was still a Dutch colony. All the interviews are accessible through the Internet. For the second project the Foundation delivers a platform to make 5000 hours of interviews with Shoah survivors searchable and available on the internet.

Naftalie is one of the co-founders of Radio La Benevolencija / Humanitarian Tools Foundation.
Radio Benevolencija is a NGO devoted to helping people who have suffered from ethnic violence. Extensive academic research has proven that ethnic conflict and group violence always take place according to specific patterns. Radio Benevolencija develops media campaigns to make people aware of these patterns. The media broadcasts and grassroots activities raise awareness about the dangers of political propaganda, group pressure and the patterns that lead to group violence. The activities aims to contribute to reconciliation and the prevention of future ethnic violence . The program is designed under the guidance of academic experts from the University of Massachussetts, the Trauma Research Education and Training Institute (TREATI) and Yale University. Activities are based on academic research into the origins and prevention of genocide, as well as a community-based approach to healing. Currently Radio La Benevolencija is working in Rwanda, Congo and Burundi.
