Commercial District Revitalization and Historic Preservation consultant
Greater Philadelphia Area
Heritage Consulting Inc. is a woman-owned business that provides assistance to non-profit organizations, government agencies and corporate clients nationwide in three practice areas: downtown and commercial district revitalization, historic preservation and non-profit organizational development. Donna Ann Harris is the firm's principal and has over twenty years of experience as a trainer, program designer and manager in the historic preservation field.
Ms. Harris is the author of the book New Solutions for House Museums: Ensuring the Long-Term Preservation of America's Historic Houses, published in April 2007 by AltaMira Press, an academic press based in Lanham Maryland. AltaMira Press has a joint publishing agreement with the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) to identify important books in the field. Ms. Harris’s book was jointly published with AASLH under this imprint.
Heritage Consulting Inc.’s services can vary from short, project-specific assignments such as board training, strategic planning or committee training to year-long consultations to fundamentally reorganize a non-profit organization or implement downtown local taxing districts. Downtown and historic preservation have special needs and Heritage Consulting prefers to establish long- term working relationships with clients that mature and develop over time.
We have worked with individuals, agencies and organizations throughout Illinois, and in Michigan, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, Iowa, Maryland, Kansas, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Missouri, North Carolina, Colorado, Texas, Kentucky, Washington and Indiana.
Heritage Consulting Inc. has a particular expertise in non-profit organizational development issues and can provide long or short term assistance in downtown revitalization planning, partnership development, sustainable funding strategies including establishing business improvement districts, organizing heritage tourism efforts and strategies and planning for reuse of non-profit/government owned historic structures.
