I am a researcher at the Mobile Life Centre and SICS in Stockholm, Sweden.
I'm also in the last stages of my finishing my PhD in human-computer interaction at the University of Amsterdam. My research focuses on user interaction with user-adaptive and semi-autonomous systems.
My studies have explored how user perceptions of interfaces and understanding of systems' inner workings impact trust and behaviour. My work includes interface design elements, as well as social and affective aspects of the user-system dialogue. My research aims to inform design of transparent interactions that build long-term trust relationships between users and applications.
More information about my research and publications can be found at hcramer.wordpress.com
My expertise lies in conducting user studies and experiments, analysing contextual requirements or opportunities and exploring the impact of design decisions on user attitudes. I've used a variety of quantitative, statistical and qualitative methods in both lab and field settings. I’ve published in areas such as personalised information filtering, adaptive recommending, human-robot interaction, virtual reality and interaction with context-aware mobile devices.
User experience, affective and social aspects of human-computer interaction, context-awareness, adaptivity, personalisation, user control, mental models, semi-autonomous systems, computer-mediated communication, human relationships, mobile interaction, mixed reality, human-robot interaction, physical interaction, long term human-technology relationships.
