Heidi Hsueh was born in Taipei, Taiwan and was educated at National Taiwan University. She obtained her MBA at National Cheng-Chi University in Taiwan and MPhil in International Studies from Cambridge University.
At 18, she worked as private tutor in Math, Physics and Chemistry for high school students from top independent schools in Taipei. She supported herself and completed the university degree whilst serving at the Student’s Parliament as Vice Chairman and the Parliamentary Procedure Society as Chairman and President.
Heidi wrote four best selling books of the year on software in Taiwan when she was an MBA student. She co-founded her first venture pAsia Inc. during the second semester of her MBA study. pAsia was one of the major players in the Internet in Greater China area with several key products across the region.
After moving to London, she started an MPhil program in International Studies at Newnham College, Cambridge University. She started investing in and advising young technology companies through Caravel Capital, which she founded in 2005. By using her management and business development skills, as well as experience in international expansion, she helps young companies grow the business to the next level. She is a member of management board or advisory board for five technology companies.
Heidi is active in arts, education, current affairs and environment matters outside her commercial interests. Heidi believes that entrepreneurship applies to all aspects in life, not only in business. Entrepreneurship is the spirit and attitude that one can maximise one's potential and make an impact in both social and commercial aspects.
Heidi believes in life-time learning. She is keen on mountaineering, skiing, and swimming. She loves classical music, opera, modern art, photography and Chinese calligraphy.
She is working on two un-announced projects.
