Entertainment News Writer at Westwood One Metro Source
Phoenix, Arizona Area
I have eleven years of experience in radio broadcasting. I've worked in San Jose, San Francisco, and now Phoenix since 2000. I've done several radio formats including rock (AOR), classic rock, 80s modern rock, CHR (top 40), urban, CHR/rhythmic, sports, and news. In these formats I've been an on-air personality, morning show producer, web content writer, and morning news chick. I hold three radio broadcast certificates from Ohlone College in Fremont, CA and one journalism certificate from Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, AZ. The college degree is in progress "at" Boston University's Metropolitan College. The program is a b.s. in liberal arts and I attend online.
I've written for the Paradise Valley College Puma Press Newspaper, Sweat Magazine, Contact Magazine, Veg News Magazine, Suite101.com, CNET's Webshots, Batanga.com, Northeast Mesa Lifestyle Magazine, Gilbert Lifestyle Magazine, Senior Lifestyle (monthly newspaper in the East Valley at the time I was there), Westwood One Metro Networks, 987ThePeak.com, Phoenix Art Space, MelodyTrip.com, Submitawebsite.com, Qwixo.com, and the radio show prep service Bit X Change.
I have interned for Organic Processing Magazine, Sweat Magazine (fitness) and Razor Magazine (men's).
My goals are to be full-time on the air as a radio personality while also functioning as a freelance music journalist.
Another goal I have is to take radio out of the dark ages and into modern times, starting with the web.
On-air broadcasting to fit any music format, news, or sports. Ten years of experience as an on-air personality. Podcasting, Audio editing. Networking and relationship building. Producing morning and night radio shows. Audio production. News writing, Interviewing. Broadcast journalism. Print journalism. Online journalism. Blogging. Good "gets" for celebrity interviews. Basic HTML.
