I'm pursuing a master's degree in public policy while simultaneously keeping up a city-focused local blog and engaging in other volunteer work.
My past experiences include paid journalism, web site creation and maintenance, teaching, illustration, design, photography, copywriting, and magazine editing and production. I have specialized in working with youth ages 12 through 25 particularly in team-building, encouraging civic engagement, and teaching writing, interviewing and editing skills.
I also have an extensive interest in urban issues, including architectural history, transportation, the use of public space, and the relationship between the public and private sectors. Work toward my bachelor's degree focused on the historical growth and present reality of cities; my master's degree focuses on their internal workings and future potential.
Writing, editing, storytelling; team-building as well as working independently; translating in-group ideas for broad audience; relevant and speedy research; combining language with art for maximum effect. Art direction, marketing. Web, HTML, open source CMS and PHP proficiency. Graphics and layout software experience, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
