In the development of my career it has been a goal to work in an international environment on matters relating to law and business. The field of competition law is especially appealing and interesting because of the interaction between law and economics. When I was studying for my B.S. in Commercial Law here in Iceland, I had a summer internship with the Icelandic Competition Authority. At the time the Icelandic Competition Authority was addressing a complaint by Icelandexpress of predatory actions by Icelandair. This ultimately led me to write my thesis on predatory pricing in Iceland in comparison to US and European law. When I finished my studies I got a part time position teaching an introductory law course at a technical college and worked for an Icelandic bank as a corporate adviser. At the beginning of 2008 I felt I needed to take the next step in my personal and professional maturation. After some initial exploration of career and study opportunities I decided on applying for a Masters in Law. Today I am writing my thesis and will complete the Icelandic Bar exam at the end of 2009.
