Hans Veldhuizen’s Summary
I'm President of Indictis Ventures, a company that invests early stage capital in start-ups in the internet space. The company is currently holding shares in six companies.
Some people call me a serial entrepreneur. I founded my first company in 1986 and my first internet company in 1995. In april 1996 Michiel Berger and I founded Nedstat, a company active in the field of extensive website-tracking and analysis. Nedstat currently is the market leader in Europe, with over 175 employees and offices in Amsterdam, London (UK), Paris (France), Frankfurt (Germany), Antwerp (Belgium) and Madrid (Spain). Indictis Ventures still is a major shareholder and I serve on the board of directors.
Since 1998 I have been involved in about ten internet companies. I was on the board of the leading European payment provider Bibit, which was sold to the Royal Bank of Scotland in 2004 and I was the first investor in e-mail security company Izecom.
In 2001 I founded a company called 'Albumprinter' and funded it untill after it's launch. Albumprinter is a software and services company, that developed an innovative front and back end solution for the production of coffee table quality photo books and other high value photo products.
The company launched in the spring of 2003. The company is highly successful and and currently has around a 150 employees. Albumprinter's headquarter is located in Amsterdam, it's main US office is in New Jersey.The company has a highly modern printing & fulfillment facililty in Rijswijk, close to The Hague. Indictis is a major shareholder.
I'm currently working on a new start up in the music industry, based in Los Angeles (Venice Beach, to be precise) and - of course - with a disruptive business model. Another start-up I'm involved in as a nice side-project is called BetaBeater.
I was elected Internet Entrepreneur of The Year 2001 by the Dutch magazine 'Internet In Business'.
