At an early age, Hans Overturf exhibited great passion for the financial world, reading the business section of the local news paper as early as 12 years old. His aspiration has always been to create a cutting edge financial consultancy focused on helping people to grow their wealth in uncommon ways.
In 1989 Overturf started an apprenticeship with the postal service in Zurich, Switzerland. As junior postmaster, Hans had his first exposure to the financial services industry through the Swiss Postbank. During his 2 years in the Swiss Armed Forces he rose to the rank of First Lieutenant, leading a platoon of 43 troops.
Hans Overturf attended Humboldt State University and graduated in 1999 with a degree in Economics, Summa Cum Laude. Soon after graduating Hans was hired by Morgan Stanley in Eureka, CA, as a financial advisor. Considered one of their most promising trainees, Hans received the Morgan Stanley National Director’s Award and graduated second in his class of 32 from the Morgan Stanley training program (original enrollment was over 200). In July of 2003 Hans established his own financial services practice in Arcata, CA through Raymond James Financial Services. He now has a satellite office in San Francisco and other out of state office plans in the works.
Hans Overturf holds the following licenses: Series 7 (stocks, bonds, mutual funds); Series 66 (California Securities); Series 9/10 General Securities Sales Supervisor (options and margin); Series 24 Rules and Regulation (branch manager); California Insurance License; and Real Estate Licenses in both California and Florida. Hans is committed to learning and continues his education in leadership, finance, and fitness. Following an intense post-graduate study program, he became a member of the elite entrepreneurial group WEALTH. This rigorous group of business executives from around the country meets weekly to build their agility in business and life situations with powerful thinking and action.

Hans Overturf enjoys numerous extracurricular activities and believes deeply in a physical lifestyle. Mr. Overturf been a pilot for many years, having a specific regard for flying helicopters. He enjoys trekking through the rough terrain of the California mountain trails and improving his running expertise, while keeping fit through yoga. When he is not enjoying the great outdoors, Hans Overturf enjoys spending quality time with his family, including taking yearly trips back to visit his home country, Switzerland.
Hans Overturf is active in a dozen professional and public service groups, among them the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce, Arcata Rotary, and the Swiss-California Foundation.
