Vikas spent 10 years in Tata Teleservices Ltd. (TTSL) i.e. part of the telecom industry. He worked in various capacities including Rural Telephony, Public Telephony, Quality, Collections, and Sales. In his last role Vikas managed following business lines Rural, Pay Telephony, PoS and Calling Cards. Prior to TTSL, he worked for a consuting firm called PSi. At PSi he worked for some of the major Fortune – 500 companies. The incumbent contributed in the areas of research, consulting and sourcing.

At Tata Teleservices Ltd. during his last assignment, the incumbent worked as the President of ABU. In that position Vikas managed the Pay telephony, Rural, POS and calling card businesses for Tata Teleservices. All these businesses were controlled within the SBU called Access Business Unit.

This was a management consulting firm, however subsequently the organization diversified into funding and setting up 'green field ventures'. During his tenure in the firm Vikas was invovled in the management consulting practise. PSi was a huge learning experience for the incumbent i.e. to create error free plans and execute them flawlessly.

At Tata Donnelley the incumbent was incharge for selling space in the yellow pages to corporte clients in Delhi. The yellow pages was a business directory used by large and medium enterprises to solicit business.

Apart from trekking in the lower Shivalik range and playing cricket in the lush green lawns of his Business School, Vikas did not do anything constructive during this period.

Bangalore was a big change for a small town person like Vikas. This was his first exposure of living on his own while pursuing a professional course. However it was a very interesting time, he made some of the best friends during this period, many of whom continued to stay by his side for the remaining part of their lives.
Investing in the stock market ... fundamentally gambling, studying various leadership styles, teaching and farming.
