    For Varien I manage Dutchento, the Dutch Magento community. In this role, I am also part of the Magento Community Advisory Board (CAB).

    Varien is an experienced player in the Open Source e-commerce segment that has been, since 2001, leveraging the power of open source technology to help on-line merchants fulfill their business goals. And, at a fraction of the cost and time of proprietary e-commerce solutions.

    The Magento open source project is Variens main product and was a direct response to the emerging new needs of today's online merchants.

    Dutchento is the platform for Dutch Magento users, developers, designers, etc. We organize the Meet Dutchento conferences, the first one was in January 2009.

    I researched Motion-Induced Blindness (MIB), a phenomenon of visual disappearance or perceptual illusions in which salient visual stimuli disappear as if erased in front of the observers eyes (for more information, see http://www.weizmann.ac.il/home/masagi/MIB/mib.html).
    Our research found an effect for distance (increased distance -> increased MIB) and for direction (more MIB in the upper left visual field).
