Didn't get into Med school, so took up a graduate degree in Commerce. Failed accounting twice before clearing it with distinction. Never picked up the degree, had such a bad time with college, decided to not study further.
Got admission to a university in the US for a bachelors in computing, was denied a visa
Joined a computer course in India, somehow got lucky and ended up writing the first book in the world on the Visual programming features of Foxpro 2.0. It's quite obsolete now, and even I don't have a copy!
Finished the book and launched business at age 22, almost ran it into the ground 2 times during 8 years. Learned most of my lessons through those experiences. First-hand insights into Leadership, Managing business and Organization Change.
Got tired of boring routine, once business was set, so sold it and got into OD Consulting. Started at the bottom. Setup operations from scratch in Bangalore and Bombay, built order books, delivered results and became Country Head for the business.
Realized I hadn't experienced the corporate world, decided on a 2 year stint. Quit, gave my first ever job interview got into Convergys Corp. had a fantastic learning exposure to world-class OD technology. Did well, surprised myself! Didn't think I would survive and do well in the Corporate world.
Got back to Consulting with Erehwon Innovation Consulting, within a few months I realized that my motivations had changed. My girls were growing up, needed me.
So decided to get back to the corporate world and joined the RPG Group. Headed the Organization Development and Learning function for the group and did some very interesting and path-breaking work.
One fine day, Welspun reached out to me, and asked me to come on board. They have huge growth ambitions and wanted me to help build the organization. Couldn't resist the challenge and opportunity!

I head Organization Development and Learning for the RPG Group which comprises Ceat Tyres, Spencers Retail, Zensar IT, KEC Power Transmission, Saregama Music, CESC amongst others.
My primary role is to identify, design and lead strategic interventions at the CXO level. The focus is primarily on transformation and capability building.
As owner of the Learning portfolio I am also responsible for bringing a consistency and relevance to the learning inputs provided across the group.
Achievements so far:
Successfully managing Organization Culture Change initiatives in 2 of the largest group companies
As the RPG Group gears up to grow from $3 billion to $ 10 billion in size, have co-created an Organization Capability plan and am working on actioning it in the areas of Leadership, Culture, Managerial Skills
Designed and deployed the RPG Corporate University
Putting in place processes to build Managerial and Leadership Bandwidth

Programs and services included Performance Management, Talent Management(for fast track employees), 360 degree feedback, Organization-wide Goal setting exercises, LEadership and Coaching/Mentoring, Variety of Training and Development needs
Achievements:
Transferred OD systems and processes from the parent company to India ops
Successfully launched the Performance Management System, which included training on both attitude and skills
Implemented an intervention that increased collaboration and work effectiveness across Indian and American work teams by 46%
Was Gobal lead for Business Consulting skills for all territories except North America
Brought the Manager and Leaders development programs to India
