Background

Summary

At Jibe I work with Ruby, Mongo and Redis. I also use Rails and Sinatra frameworks for personal projects, along with JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, HTML and CSS.

Projects

Unicorn – an interpreted language built in python and designed for complete beginners(Link)

• Syntax of the language is constructed in a way that “humanizes” general programming principles found in other languages.
• Lexer is built with 47 regular expressions.
• Parser is constructed using Pratt’s algorithm, which associates semantics with tokens instead of grammar rules; it uses left and right binding powers to handle precedence levels and makes tokens the nodes of the tree.
• Interpretation is handled via evaluation functions inside each class of the tokens.
• I wrote a simple guessing game using Unicorn to showcase current capabilities of the language, such as handling variable assignments, user input, random method, conditional statements and loops.
• Unicorn was built in 4 weeks.

UnicornCode - an interactive webapp that teaches Unicorn language(Link)

• The web app is built with python using Flask.
• Tutorials are stored in posgresql database and accessed and modified via sqlalchemy.
• Authentication is built manually and sign in form is handled with wtforms.
• The tutorial text is input using markdown technique that allows styling in the front end.
• Interface is built with CSS, HTML, JS and AJAX.
• UnicornCode was built in a weekend.

A Word From the Author - Gordon Bernhardt

This book exists because of all the inspirational individuals who so graciously shared their stories with me.

The entrepreneurialism and positive spirit expressed by the inspiring men and women profiled for this collection reflect the talent and hope our nation needs for a complete economic recovery.

I hope you will enjoy these profiles as much as I enjoyed getting to know these business people as much as I enjoyed getting to know these business people and telling their stories. If you know a local business owner worthy of a future profile, please feel free to contact me. It's my goal to continue to work with Executive Leaders Radio and author profiles of business people to help build connections and foster trust in our local business community.
