Web developer and graphic designer
San Francisco Bay Area
I've been making websites for a long time. And while my profession keeps a roof over my head and a meal on my table, I have many interests outside of web development and user experience design.
I love writing sketches, performing improvisational comedy, and shooting short comedic films. I've spent the last 8 years performing, and I'm pretty good at it.
I love graphic design. I'm self-taught, but I've been pushing pixels around before layers and masks we're standard terms in Photoshop. Give me a design problem and I'll show you a design solution. I'm pretty good at it.
I love No-Limit Texas Hold'em. I could play Hold'em for days on end, only stopping to take a cat nap while the table changes dealers. And I'm pretty good at it. Some people aren't; I am.
But enough about me.

I began my relationship with Orbitz as a contract-to-hire candidate. After the first two months of my contract, Orbitz offered me a full-time position. I was hired as an Engineer 1 for the User Interface Engineering group. My accomplishments include developing the CheapTickets tab header, writing the first DHTML calendar for Orbitz and all secondary brands, and co-developing the search forms for air/hotel/car/package searches.
In early 2006, I was promoted to Engineer 2. I began work on the "new platform" for Orbitz: our international white-label travel site. I wrote a large portion of the JavaScript to support air/hote/car/package searches, including the Ajax functionality. I also completed project work and prototyping to support feature development for Orbitz.
In early 2008, I was promoted to Senior User Interface Engineer. My daily tasks include feature work for Orbitz, as well as offering expertise in the areas of JavaScript, prototyping, and domain architecture.
