Art has always been a part of my life. Growing up in the 70’s, I saw a lot of artistic experimentation and exploration. My own abilities were channeled into a more traditional outlet… drafting rather than drawing. After dissecting and quantifying objects, the 'mysteries' seemed to diminish. However, I still was fascinated with nature and weather and I took a lot of photos of things that I found interesting. Color and shape over subject and strict composition.

I am an opportunistic photographer, searching for images that capture a moment, a feeling or a connection. The ocean draws me to it and I oblige as often as I can. Old and forgotten buildings and barns appeal to me in a way that compels me to capture their images. It is nature and the effects of time, landscapes that are ever changing, beachscapes that show a timeless essence and tranquility that fascinate me.

I currently also am working with oil paints, acrylics, metallics and plaster to create effects on canvas and as unique faux finishes. This level of creativity is something that I think comes from a desire to achieve new and interesting textures with an organic feel. The approach is non-traditional, but the overall effect is very accessible.

Life has led me along many paths and I have stopped to look a little more closely. I hope that you will find a glimpse of the ‘mystery’, as I see it, in the work that it has become today.
