My passion is changing the world. My strengths are in technology, and I tend to want to use the tools that I know the best. I believe that we are on the cusp of a new world, where information flows freely and quickly around the world. A world where a single individual can change the course of history with a simple tweet, email, or video. And I want to be part of that change.
I have never been one to want to sit on the sidelines and watch. I have always been in the forefront of any group I have been in. This is no different. I believe that technology and smartphones can change the world, and I want to help. The reality of the situation is that geeks are still needed. The bars have been set lower, but we still need smart people setting up the back end stuff to make it all work. That is where I fit in. I have a deep understanding of hardware, operating systems, and applications.
That in and of itself is not really special. Where I shine is my ability to learn new technologies quickly, and in translating between geek speak and English. This allows me to pick up a new tool, and quickly understand it. I can then translate that understanding into explaining what it does, why we need it, and how we can use it. Then I can move on to providing architectural suggestions as to how best interweave this new tool into the existing system, and what benefit it will have.
I am happiest when I am neck deep in code, networking, traffic test results, and application benchmarks. I feel joy when I can explain a subject to someone, or show them a new tool and see that "ah ha" moment in their eyes or hear it in their voice.
