Civil & Criminal Appellate Attorney
Greater Los Angeles Area
I am an attorney focusing on civil and criminal appeals and select civil litigation. My appellate practice leverages the research and writing experience I gained in nearly a decade of litigating high stakes business cases with large firms for six years and against large firms for three more, but puts it to work in all areas of substantive law.
My practice also includes select civil litigation. Interesting cases get my attention.
To both aspects of my practice, I bring the perspective of a former client. As former general counsel of a software development company, I know full well the stresses and disruption caused by litigation, and closely counsel clients with an aim toward minimizing the inconvenience of litigation while still providing aggressive representation.
My practice focuses on civil and criminal appeals and select civil litigation. Please see the summary under my business, The Law Office of Greg May, for details.

June 2005 — Present (4 years 6 months)
My law practice focuses on civil and criminal appeals, writs and post-trial motions in all areas of the law in California state courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. I view appellate practice itself as an area of expertise, to be applied in just about any subject area. My appellate practice has included cases in the following areas: labor, trusts, custody, community property, personal injury, employment, insurance coverage, civil rights, marital support, criminal, copyright, and public contracting.
My practice also includes select civil litigation, in which I capitalize on my prior experience in high stakes business litigation.
