My first experience with journalism came as a high school sophomore, reporting for the Cypress Bay High School newspaper, The Circuit. I pioneered the layout editor position the next year and served as managing editor as a senior.
Since then, I have freelanced for The Miami Herald Neighbors section, interned at Forum Publishing Group, interned at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and contributed as a freelance correspondent to a St. Petersburg Times story on student loans.
I currently work as a local news intern at The Miami Herald in Broward.
My experience with online journalism includes creating The Circuit's first Web site, creating a personal site, contributing to a class travel blog while studying abroad in China, contributing to an intern blog at the Sun-Sentinel and creating a personal blog about journalism called The Linchpen (www.greglinch.com).
I have done multimedia work for The Miami Hurricane, my blog and some of my classes. I have worked as a freelance videographer for New America Media.
My goal is a work as a reporter/online journalist after I graduate in May 2009.
