I have worked as a software developer and technologist since the late 1980s. In 1996, I became a self-employed software development consultant, working with many companies as the Internet began booming.
Over time, I was involved with many teams of geographically-distributed independent consultants, working together on client projects. Coming from a strong software development process background, I began setting up source code control repositories for these teams so we could work together more effectively.
Out of this was born the idea and realization of SourceHosting.net - an Internet-based hosted source code control repository service. The primary focus of the service is on small companies who don't have the time and inclination to set something like this up for themselves. Our clients are often working toward their initial product launch and don't need any additional administrative tasks to keep them from that goal.
I look forward to meeting online and networking with other developers and software company founders who can benefit from this service. I also read many mailing lists online and enjoy passing on opportunities to other folks as I come across them.

I started contributing to The FreeBSD Project with my first port for WebCalendar in 2005 (http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=ports/76928).
Since then, I've completely transitioned to FreeBSD for the SourceHosting.net infrastructure, and I've added more ports to the tree and supplied patches for existing ones.
Eventually, I was granted the privilege of a commit bit to the ports tree and look forward to contributing to and advocating the use of the FreeBSD operating system. I'm especially interested in ports related to cloud computer, SaaS delivery, software development, source code control and release engineering.
