Founder and CEO
My mission is to collaboratively hack the $7 trillion (annual) building industry using innovative technologies to bridge design, fabrication and community. Technology has enabled massive disruption and efficiency in many industries and it is increasingly impacting the construction industry and creating a golden era for those willing to embrace new and innovative building systems and technologies. My work combines my 20 years of experience as the owner of a residential building company and 10 years of experience as a technology entrepreneur.
I "build change" by creating and working with global networks of industry experts from robotics, fabrication, green building, gaming, software, manufacturing, building science, etc. Although I am a passionate about technology and innovation, ultimately I believe real innovation and change is the result of working with the right people and projects to accelerate change by demonstrating what is possible by building the right teams and projects.
Join us in our work to hack the building industry at our AEC Hackathons, the Digital Fabrication Network and by collaborating with us to build change.
Frequent presenter on extreme green building and innovation in architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) at; Autodesk, Arup, NASA, SRI, ESRI UC, Nvidia GPU Conference, Geoweb, Greenbuild, AEC Hackathon Seattle, OregonBest Fest, Stanford, UCLA, University of Washington, California College of the Arts, Digipen, Serious Games Conference, Metaverse Roadmap Meetup, Architecture for Humanity, Nordic Green Build, Augmented Reality Event, etc.

Disrupting the design and building industries with innovative technologies. Technology is evolving far more quickly than building industry adoption - we are pushing the industry forward.
dFab Net (Digital Fabrication Network) is a rapidly growing and innovative organization designed to create a strong community of design professionals, researchers, digital fabricators, and software/ hardware tool providers discussing and exploring Better Ways of Building through Digital Fabrication. We are raising the general understanding and acceptance of Digital Fabrication techniques, and providing people access to resources and knowledge.
dFab Net is a non-for-profit organization which aims to promote information technology, research and innovation in manufacturing for its members and their customers. Our objectives are to:
1. Identify and promote the benefits of Digital Fabrication
2. Address issues & obstacles encountered by the use of digital information and tools
3. Research, identify and address opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of digital manufacturing
4. Promote the general adoption of Digital Fabrication
5. Foster cooperation and understanding between designers, fabricators and software/hardware suppliers
6. Encourage innovation through cross-industry collaboration
The following key stakeholders are already officially represented: Autodesk, Cut My Timber, IDEAbuilder, Kreysler & Associates, Matsys, Robert McNeel & Associates, Zahner, California College of the Arts, University of Texas Schools, and Institute for Computational Design at the University of Stuttgart. We invite other interested and relevant parties to participate by becoming a member.
The largest, most experienced, and the most technologically advanced network of timber engineers and fabricators in the world. We use computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) and computer-numeric-control (CNC) robotics to produce timber and steel/timber components for the building industry.
The $7 trillion architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry needs hacking. No time like the present. Join us.

A first for the Architecture, Engineering, Construction Industry, the AEC Hackathon is a non-profit event that creates on-the-spot teams of Silicon Valley technologists and industry stakeholders to shape the future of our built environment. Formatted as a traditional "hack," the AEC Hackathon provides a playful, exploratory environment where disruption and creative ideas are the essential tools for innovation. The AEC community faces fresh new problems that urgently need brilliant minds to solve them.
The alpha version of a project we have been working on for years. We plan on continually releasing updates as we build out the back end and integrate new front end technologies to support user interaction using more technologies and in various browsers.
