Marketing Specialist at 2nd Story Software
Cedar Rapids, Iowa Area
I have been working in Marketing for coming up on three years with extensive knowledge of social media/marketing (although I am far from an expert). My focus is primarily in direct online marketing with as much social media marketing thrown in as I can swing. I have copious experience running online advertising campaigns (as well as finding interesting and unique ways to modify them in bulk).
My goals are very simple, to do the very best job I can wherever I happen to be and to provide my family with everything needed to enjoy a good life here in the heartland of America.
In addition to my professional experience, I run the blog Devil In The Details and write a weekly column for How to Split an Atom.

May 2007 — Present (2 years 7 months)
I came to 2nd Story Software in May of 2007 after being laid off by Heritage Microfilm, Inc. due to budgetary constraints. My specific responsibilities are still developing but involve significant amounts of data analysis used for the implementation of effective advertising strategy.

2005 — Present (4 years )
With the help of my good friend and soon to be online media Magnate Daniel Patterson, I have been running 2 blogs under the Creepy Sleepy Media banner since 2005.
My personal blog, Devil in the Details, is just that, personal. It is full of politics, sports, history and other assorted musings. The second blog, PunkRedneckPhilosophy, is a collaborative effort between myself and my good friends George and Steve. A discussion of all things social and political with opinions from three radically different points of view.
During my time with Creep Sleepy I have also appeared on the Creepy Sleepy PodCast, produced and hosted by the aforementioned Mr. Patterson.

2004 — 2007 (3 years )
I wore many hats at Heritage Microfilm before I was let go due to budget cuts in April of 2007. I began with the company in a sales role in which I was responsible for 650+ client accounts. The position at the time had no marketing support, so we became our own marketing support, creating sales and marketing materials. In March of 2006 I transitioned into the marketing department in the role of research specialist. In this position I was responsible for the creation of 24 special subject "microsites" that served as free samples of the 50+ million newspaper pages contained within the archive. In this position I also took on the responsibilities of financial reporting for NewspaperARCHIVE.com, collaborating on a daily and weekly newsletter and maintenance and management of our online advertising through Google AdWords. I worked closely with the rest of the marketing team to support the Heritage Microfilm sales staff as well as supporting marketing efforts for NewspaperARCHIVE.com.
