January 2007 — Present (2 years 11 months)
(Retail industry)
2003 — 2004 (1 year )
I worked at this neighborhood video store, which was just around the corner from the CVS I managed, after "leaving" CVS. I managed most evening shifts and closed down the store each night. I worked at Superstar until just a couple of months before they closed their doors for good. Netflix pretty much killed their business!
(Public Company; CVS; Pharmaceuticals industry)
2000 — 2003 (3 years )
I started as a cashier here at a CVS specialty pharmacy in the Castro district of San Francisco (the specialty was HIV/AIDS) called CVS/ProCare. I then became the office manager, and eventually the store manager. This store is now called "CVS Caremark".
(Public Company; USB; Banking industry)
1999 — 2000 (1 year )
I basically assisted the branch manager here at this bank, which was then known as "BayView Bank". I opened new accounts, processed home loans and did some bookkeeping.
(Non-Profit; Banking industry)
1996 — 1999 (3 years )
I worked at the branch located inside the Parnassus campus of UCSF in San Francisco. I wore many hats here. I worked as a teller, as well as opening new accounts, processing loans of all sorts, and handling all the DMV paperwork.
(Non-Profit; Museums and Institutions industry)
1994 — 1995 (1 year )
This was another fun job! I worked the early shift as the head cashier in the museum's cafe. I worked at the Museum of Fine Arts through August 1995. I moved to San Francisco on September 1, 2005.
(Museums and Institutions industry)
1993 — 1994 (1 year )
This was a really cool position in the gift shop. The Tea Party Ship was a seasonal position, as both the museum and the ship were closed during the winter months. In the spring and summer, tourists, school kids and local alike would come in by the thousands and head down to see a recreation of the Boston Tea Party. They would then pass through the gift shp on their way out. I had alot of fun when I worked here! When the season ended, I worked at a couple of other shops that were run by the same folks who ran this museum, and at really touristy areas like Faneuil Hall, also known as "Quincy Market".
(Non-Profit; Museums and Institutions industry)
1990 — 1993 (3 years )
I started out here as a cashier in 1990 and worked my way up to the position where I was managing the gift shops that were located in side the termporary special exhibits, also called "Satellite Shops". For instance, when there was an exhibit on insects, I managed the "Bug Shop". Then we had a store where we sold all sorts of dinosaur memorabilia directly inside the "Jurassic Park" exhibit. Ultimately, this position was eliminated, and I worked for a while as a head cashier in the main "Museum Shop", before leaving to work as the assistant manager at the Boston Tea Party Ship & Muesum.
