My professional life encompasses the gambit of:
* Standing on the Yellow Footprints late one night in 1982.
* Being a grunt, carrying the rifle and rucksack, leading a team of high speed-low drag troops all with my childhood goal of being John Wayne in "The Sands of Iwo Jima".
* Being an ops/staff wonk, in a company HQs, working with Company and Battalion staff NCOs and Officers. Coordinating with Allied forces.
* Banging on the keyboard, staring at the screen, working with databases.
* Coordinating HW/SW integration testing, working with strategic partners.
* Leading and managing a team of maverick berserker's, and pirates, ever so dangerous in that wonderful SUN OS Unix environment.
* Planning/implementing/managing projects in GIS, Web, Enterprise systems.
* Outsourcing: Offshore (India, China, Philippines, France, Spain, Russia, Romania), Nearshore (Canada, Ireland), Onshore (Utah, Colrado, Idaho), managed services, software development and testing and business process outsourcing.
* Leading, providing vision, direction and guidance for strategic planning and thinking.
* Helping businesses focus and breakthrough that plateau they've comfortably perched upon.
That is the thumbnail sketch of my experiences. I have worked with some of the smartest/greatest people there ever were. Today, you have used or were touched by something they dreamed and invented. No doubt.
