Manager - Customer Service/Operations at Andrus Transportation Services
Las Vegas, Nevada Area
Transportation & Logistics/Warehousing/Trucking
Grant has over 16 years in the transportation industry complemented by warehousing experience. He started back in 1992 as a trainee driver at Andrus Transportation Services, Inc.. From there he used his work at Andrus to pay his way through college, borrowing only for the last semester because he had married and had a child born during this time.
At Andrus he worked up through the ranks quickly. From 1998 to 2003 he was the Logistics Planning Manager, Special Projects, and Operations Manager. From there he joined then Boise Cascade Corporation where he continued to excel.
His time at the DeRidder, LA terminal saw many challenges including safety, cost pressures and personnel issues. He was introduced to Union negotiations, advanced OSHA issues and programs, and saw a challenging time through capacity issues. The unit saw extensive growth during this period in excess of 1,000%.
He went from the trucking division into the mill environment at the St Helens, OR mill and continued to work through challenging issues in the shipping department. He used all of the skills he had acquired at DeRidder and added to them.
Grant is hoping to return to school and get a degree in Mechanical Engineering or an MBA.
