Grant Cause’s Summary
Grant Cause is a PRINCE2 Practitioner qualified Project Manager with over 20 years experience in the ICT industry with comprehensive consulting experience in a vast array of industries. Grant has held senior mid-level management positions in both professional and technical lead roles in Australia and overseas in bespoke software development companies, accounting software companies, and more recently operating his own IT consultancy firm.
In the six years prior to joining SMS, Grant was the Managing Director of his own successful IT consultancy firm IT Project Services Pty. Ltd. t/a ITPS which specialised in Project Management consultancy of bespoke software development projects utilising Microsoft’s .NET platform. Grant’s client base included a number of blue chip clients both in Australia and overseas such as Allianz, CCH Australia, Qld Dept. of Main Roads, UBS, Metcash, ResMed, Terry White Chemists to name a few many of whom had been with the firm since it first started.
Apart from his IT expertise, Grant is an accomplished presenter and industry representative and served on the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) Qld committee for two years where he contributed to the US Free Trade Agreement negotiations, Qld. Government purchasing policy negotiations around GITC v5 and helped establish the LIAG (Local Industry Action Group) in Qld. to assist the growth of local ICT businesses.
Grant was recently elected as the Chairman of Software Queensland and has previously been the Deputy Chair of the association where he will continue to strive to further the cause of local industry development. A focus of this role will be to assist the Queensland Government ICT Workgroup complete a review of GITCv5 and participate in the industry review of Queensland Government tenders worth $2M (or more) before they go to market.
