I am an Internet professional with a track record of innovation and problem solving. I have led small and medium sized teams in multiple locations, in small start-up environments and in large corporate environments, through the free-wheeling internet bubble days to the more restrained environment of an international law enforcement agency.
My Internet career started in 1995 when I helped launch AOL in the UK. Starting in the Editorial group, I then went on to build the Product Management and Localisation Group in the UK. A confident communicator, I represented AOL on Sky News, BBC Radio and other media. As UK Director of Search, I launched new shopping search partners, new search advertising partners and made strategic shifts to the way that members navigated the AOL service.
In 2006 I was seconded to the ground-breaking Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre. Looking after their "Safer By Design" efforts, I was a keynote speaker at their seminars on Social Networking, and represented the Centre on the Home Secretary’s Taskforce on Online Child Protection during the drawing up of their Social Networking Guidance.
