Since this was over 35 years ago, I don't believe what I did there is particularly relevant. I worked for the department that put out two publications a month -- one for the food service industry and one for supermarkets. All the typesetting was done on an IBM Executive typewriter, which I knew how to use better than the previous two people in that position.
As I recall, my main accomplishments were: 1) I introduced the use of tables as a way of explaining appropriate material. 2) I Recognized that all of the portraits of highlighted people should have the same head size. You must remember that at this time, there were no personal computers and no photoshop, This was done with a ruler and a calculator, and an overlay was put on each photograph that indicated the area to be shown and the percent of reduction or enlargement.
I know I'm talking ancient technology, Each publication was manually pasted up, and tables were hand-ruled with special technical pens using india ink.
