    Other activities: While in grad school I completed field work for Dr. Paul Harcombe in the Big Thicket National Preserve, east of Houston. I also served as a community associate for the newly-formed Martel College, where I met with students, welcomed them in my home, and even played on their new Beer Bike and powderpuff football teams.
