I have been racing for 10 years, I started racing go-karts at 7 years old. I'm currently driving a Limited Late Model and a Sportsman in the sunny state of Florida.
I have been racing the Limited Late Model at New Smyrna Speedway for 3 years now. In my first year I was awarded Rookie of the Year honors. Then, in 2007, I just barely missed winning the track championship finishing up the season 2nd in points. Last year I raced my Late Model in about 5 traveling events and also began running a Sportsman car for a friend of mine. This year I am pretty much doing the same thing while I work on finishing up my education.
As for my education, last January I meet all my high school graduation requirements - a year and a half early. This May I completed my certificate in Welding Technology at Daytona State College. In December of this year I will complete the course work required to obtain my AAS Degree in Industrial Management Technology. So next year, while my friends are still 6 months away from graduating high school, I'll already have a college degree!
In 2010 I plan to make visits to school speaking to students about careers in manufacturing. Right now I am working on a grant proposal to raise money to purchase a mobile virtual welding lab where I can show the students what its like to be a welder.
Driving fast, working hard, welding, fabrication, working on race cars. Public speaking and promoting organizations through my racing and motorsports career.
