Mr. Glenn Strachan is presently serving as technical advisor for a nation-wide deployment of broadband wireless in the Republic of Montenegro as well as providing Muniwireless consulting services. Prior to this Mr. Strachan served as project director overseeing the Macedonia Connects Project (www.mkconnects.org)which provided nationwide broadband wireless connectivity using 460 primary and secondary schools as well as select universities and NGOs as the anchor tenant. This work has been highlighted in such publications as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Christian Science Monitor and the BBC show "Click Online." Prior to this project, Mr. Strachan worked on wireless connectivity solutions in Romania and Uganda. The work in Romania demonstrated various connectivity solutions which could provide Internet connectivity to the most remote and impoverished regions in eastern Romania. The work in Uganda established the first wireless networking solution in the country to provide Internet connectivity to nine primary teacher colleges. For 10 of his 13 years of service at the Academy for Educational Development (AED) Mr. Strachan served as Chief Information Officer and Vice President. Prior to AED, Mr. Strachan worked for Realcom/WorldCom where he designed local, municipal and wide area networks in the United States. Mr. Strachan brings with him 30 years of computer and networking expertise. Mr. Strachan holds a Masters degree from Humboldt State University and Bachelor degrees from San Jose State University.

a) Clinton Global Initiative – Helping to identify and generate leads for TechSoup’s CGI commitment and will execute on post-event collaboration discussions with potential partners. You will be part of a team that works on these activities and will support overall strategy as appropriate.
b) Government related development (USAID) – Provide consultation to the teams engaging in the newest area of government supported work via USAID. Work closely with the team executing on this opportunity and will support the development strategy for deepening the relationship with USAID and the contractors that TechSoup will work with in order to deliver on existing opportunities.
c) Wireless / broadband expertise – Provide guidance and help develop our expertise and strategy around product bundling. Tasks to be defined.
d) International sourcing – Support the TechSoup Global Network team with Partner NGO sourcing in various countries based on expertise in ICT for development.

From August, 2004 till October 2006 I was the director of a USAID funded activity in the Republic of Macedonia which made it the first all broadband wireless country in the world. This CD contains many of the articles written about this project. We have been highlighted by the New York Times, Financial Times, the Christian Science Monitor, Herald Tribune, the BBC, Newsweek and the Wall Street Journal to name a few. Connects, in addition to a piece produced by Motorola about the same project.
