The team developed, documented and received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration for an ultrasonic technology applied to the DC-9 Wing Box T-Cap that reduced inspection labor hours by 85–94 percent using service bulletin estimates and airline calculations. The technology also reduced inspection costs by $1 million.
