I've accumulated 12 years of experience in the recruiting and staffing industry, and I currently serve as the Vice President of Recruiting for a billion dollar staffing firm. My experience spans full life cycle recruiting "at the desk" to hiring, training, and managing large recruiting and delivery teams, as well as training hundreds of Technology, Defense, Finance and Accounting, and Healthcare recruiters who are responsible for nearly 10,000 hires nationally on an annual basis.
I believe that the recruiting industry has yet to realize the full value and potential of human capital data. Jonathan Rosenberg, SVP Product Management at Google, has stated that "When every business has free and ubiquitous data, the ability to understand it and extract value from it becomes the complimentary scarce factor. It leads to intelligence, and the intelligent business is the successful business, regardless of its size. Data is the sword of the 21st century, those who wield it well, the Samurai."
I could not agree more - leveraging human capital data for talent identification and acquisition is not unlike business intelligence and analytics, and companies can acheive a true competitive advantage when they are able to fully harness the power and value of that data.
I have developed a high level of expertise in leveraging information systems, including job board resume databases, social networks, applicant tracking systems, and the Internet for talent identification and acquisition. I enjoy "cracking the code" of challenging hiring profiles and creating search strategies that quickly allows sourcers and recruiters to achieve Lean/Just-in-Time sourcing, recruiting, and hiring.
