Gwenaël Le Bodic’s Summary

Telecommunications expert with deep market knowledge, I authored many reference books and articles in the domain of mobile communications and mobile messaging.

Straigth after completing my PhD studies, I joined large European telecommunications such as Vodafone and Alcatel-Lucent and this helped me gaining first-class expertise and recognition in the domain of Internet and Mobile Communications services. I most recently took leading roles in start-up companies and directed the development of innovative services.

I am currently with Airwide Solutions directing the management of several carrier-grade solutions. Position also consists of defining the vision for these products to meet the requirement of future communications services. My current fields of activity include mobile messaging (Mobile Instant Messaging, Mobile Email, Social Networking, MMS, SMS, Interconnect between services/communities and IMS technologies), service delivery platforms (J2EE, Jain SLEE, etc) and development of mobile applications (iPhone and Android).

Previously, I held the position of product manager at OZ Communications (now Nokia) for the development of mobile instant messaging solutions (T-Mobile SuperSMS).

Previously, I was Senior Architect for the Vodafone Group where he was responsible for the strategic roadmap for mobile messaging technologies. I was also involved in the deployment of MMS systems for large multi-operator environments and in the realization of messaging interconnection between mobile networks (MMS hubbing).

For several years, I carried out research and development studies for the telecommunication vendor Alcatel in Paris, France. This included many contributions to various standardization development organizations (3GPP, OMA, etc.). I had the responsibility for the technical design of the embedded messaging solution for the first two Alcatel MMS-capable phones.

I occasionally act as witness expert in the domain of mobile communications.
