Ph.D. student and teaching associate at Syracuse University's Newhouse School
Syracuse, New York Area
I have 20 years experience reporting and editing for newspapers. I've covered everything from city government to federal courts to state government. I've overseen coverage of religion, higher education and police and courts coverage. I spent five years running a satellite bureau for a daily newspaper and producing a weekly tabloid on local news. I've also produced annual special sections on how to choose a college and written and blogged about parenting, children and balancing work and family.
After 20 years in the newspaper business, I am now getting my Ph.D. in communications at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with plans to become a university professor.
My research interests are social media, gender issues, and women bloggers.
