Gianluca Hotz is a consultant specializing in architecture, high availability, capacity planning, performance tuning and database design for Microsoft SQL Server. He is working as a mentor for Solid Quality Mentors (previously known as Solid Quality Learning) and he is one of the founder and the managing director for the Italian subsidiary. Gianluca has been working in the IT field since 1993 and with SQL Server since 1996 starting with version 4.21 on Windows NT. Besides consulting he also works in the training field and has been in charge of the SQL Server courses for the largest Italian CTEC (Mondadori Informatica Education). He also supports Microsoft on the field, as a speaker at local conferences and doing the Ask The Expert at Teched. Gianluca founded the Italian User Group for SQL Server (UGISS) and he is now the vice-president, in his spare time he helps out users and has been a SQL Server MVP since 1998.
