Gerald Holubowicz's Summary
Gerald Holubowicz is the founder of Chewbahat Storytelling Lab, a Paris based multimedia production and publishing company that focuses on creating interactive documentaries and developping transmedia storytelling. He's also the co-founder alongside 6 partners of Storycode Paris, a series of transmedia events with a collaborative touch.
He has been a photojournalist for more than 10 years for various world reknown photo agencies such as Laif, Polaris images or Abaca in France and in the U.S where he lived for about 5 years.
He's also the co-director of Moneyocracy (moneyocracy-project.com), Director & developper of the Good Night and Goog Luck Remix as well as co-director of Maux de Presse (featured in the Mozila Popcorn.js demo page). Since early 2008, Gerald focused on issues related to web documentaries and transmedia storytelling. Later on, he met with leading professionals in this field through the Transmedia Meetup in New York and various conferences between New York and Paris.
In 2011, closely following the work done by Sandra Gaudenzi & the MA Interactive Media of the London College of Media, he campaigned for the adoption of the terminology “idoc” (interactive documentary) where the interaction is pushed beyond the simple interface and involves, among other factors, community management and crowdfunding.
Meanwhile, Gerald got deeply involved in the animation of the Transmedia community in France and beyond. Since 2012 is the lead teacher of the interactive documentary (webdoc) courses at EMI-CFD in Paris and has given lectures at the journalism school CFJ in Paris among others.
