Curt Sommer’s Summary

I worked in the commercial real estate appraisal profession for several years before returning to graduate school in 1994. Subsequent to finishing graduate school I relocated to Portland in January 2000 and worked as a GIS Data Technician for just over a year.

After leaving GIS in April 2001 I spent a few years career/soul searching to decide what I wanted to do with my life.

In January 2007 I decided to follow-up on my garduate thesis project and create a business in the renewable energy field, and geothermal energy in particular.

I set up an LLC called Green Energy Solutions in December 2007 and I've been working as an independent contractor selling geothermal heat pumps for a heating and cooling company in the Metro Portland area.

It's been a very interesting experience educating people about geothermal heat pumps and their many benefits and advantages over conventional forms of space heating and cooling. Many people are not even aware of heat pumps much less their many benefits.
