My most recent project was an idea hackathon. The organization wanted to start creating a culture of intrapreneurship, where employees could start developing additional sources of revenue. It involved 100 individuals from diverse backgrounds - economists, academicians, scientists, and administrative personnel. I provided content, both original and sourced, to teach them about business ideas. The goal was for them to realize business ideas can come from anyone, based on their observations and experiences. I provided weekly material for six weeks prior to the workshop. We finished with a two day workshop where teams started with an idea, refined it, and then developed business models and plans for implementation.
2012 – Present (2 years) Chapel Hill, NC
The Carolina Challenge is a Business and Social Venture Competition designed to promote entrepreneurship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Each Challenge team must include at least one UNC student, faculty or staff member. Finalists present their plans to a panel of judges comprised of successful entrepreneurs and business people as well as community and university leaders.

The International Foundation for Sonography Education and Research (IFSER) was founded for the purpose of providing educational opportunities for deserving students entering the field of sonography and for sonographers seeking to further their education. It has been providing grants, scholarships and products for more than 20 years
June 2009 – October 2011 (2 years 5 months)
Developed the concept for Group Story - a collaborative photo book company. The idea behind Group Story was to enable a person to customize a group experience down to the individual user level. The end result? A customized photo book of the memories that are important to them.
Worked with developers to create the web application (which was awarded a patent.) Involved in all areas of marketing - design, sales, customer service, social media, partnerships and trade shows.

Worked as facilitator at various Startup Weekends around the United States. We would average 100 people on a Friday night who showed up to create a business. It starts with taking all these ideas and having the participants select an idea and form a team they will work on for the weekend. The goal is to create the business by Sunday. Team size averages 8-10 people. My job was to act as the MC and facilitate the weekend. The major components in which I was involved were the ideation phase and the closing ceremony where ideas where presented and judged.

Ultrasoundjobs.com is a niche recruitment website for ultrasound professionals. It is the recognized market leader in its healthcare niche and was one of the first specialized recruitment websites. Research showed that the vacancy rate for this professional was 18% when I first created the site. I found developers and worked with them to create ultrasoundjobs.com. As the owner, I was responsible for marketing, sales, design, partnerships and trade shows. The company was sold to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography - the licensing organization for the profession.
