I have over 20 years of experience in consulting, and in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and other LI (Laboratory Informatics). My experience ranges from product selection, to business analysis and requirements gathering, to programming. The bulk of my current programming experience is with LabWare LIMS (LIMS Basic) and Thermo Sample Manager LIMS (VGL), but I am interested in and able to learn other products.

Additionally, I specialize in avoiding project failure and overrun with these projects. These overruns and failures continue to be too high in our industry with the information we already have at our fingertips. I apply this knowledge to projects.

I also feel strongly that we should all do something within our industry to help each other out. My latest effort at this is that I have the oldest and largest LIMS/Laboratory Informatics group within LinkedIn and I work to keep it both active and free of advertising.

As an industry expert, I occasionally write and speak within the industry. Additionally, my own company newsletter "Out on a LIMS: The Newsletter For People Who Risk Life and LIMS on a Daily Basis" includes representatives from every major LIMS vendor, many end-user companies, and members of both the press and of recruiting firms.
