Hello there, my name is Geoffrey. I am passionate, ambitious, and sometimes overly energetic with an entrepreneurial spirit and dreams of angel investing. I have an incredible thirst for knowledge, and as a result, when something new catches my interest, I will not stop until I have mastered every aspect of it.
Intellectually, I have always been drawn to and excelled at more left-brain dominant interests, which may explain why I chose to study of financial modeling and optimization in college. It's no wonder I surprised everyone when as an 18 year-old between high school and college, struggling with some serious health issues, I became a salesman nearly overnight. In two months that summer, I generated $21,000 worth of sales from a client base of 80+ customers all of whom I met through personal recommendations from previous customers. That was good enough for top sales rep in the city and made me a healthy chunk of change for the school year.
I continued my success part time into the school year, and picked up right where I left off the next summer, at which point teaching others started to pique my interest. I field trained 50 new reps, and set my eyes on management for the next summer. I underwent a rigorous management training around my sophomore year class schedule, and eventually opened up an office over the summer between my sophomore and junior year. I negotiated my lease price nearly in half, interviewed hundreds of applicants, hired/trained/managed 50 sales reps, managed two receptionists, and got zero full nights of sleep. It was an amazing summer!
The next summer, I interned with the company that I now work for, an incredible tech company named Return Path. My role in the Business Operations group is giving me amazing insight into the inner workings of a company, as well as some great experience managing projects and working in teams; knowledge which I hope to utilize someday in an entrepreneurial venture. I love life.
