To keep everyone happy and to solve every problem that comes my way. The latter generally takes care of the former.
To use an overworked analogy "I'm a jack of all trades, but a master of none". There's little in the computer industry I haven't done, but I'm always willing to try something else. Change drives this industry and I'm ready to roll with it.

August 1999 — Present (10 years 4 months)
Started as both PC/Mac support, web developer/master and DTP go-to guy (there was no one else). I have mostly shed the PC support and DTP, but still support a small farm of Macs. Web development is now my primary challenge, but I'll take anything tossed my way.
Officially I don't have a title and honestly I don't want one. I'll do whatever they need me to do to get the job done.

January 1986 — August 1999 (13 years 8 months)
Started as COBOL programmer working on COBOL, CICS, IMS and eventually DB2 programs. Worked up to programmer/analyst. Moved over into ISPF programming and eventually PC support. Early user of Micro Focus COBOL and OS/2. Novell in there somewhere. Trained as HP-UX Administrator. Manager of four person team supporting Oracle and Powerbuilder development. Moved into support of Macs and Interactive Unix running Sophis software. Discovered Internet and subsequently HTML coding.
It was a great group of people and a great place to learn everything under the sun.
