Prepared and directed all program activities. Hired lawyers/researchers meeting the standard and trained them able to deal with and understand both the substance (of various main and supporting legal documents) and the new IT operating system. Coordinated some 100 legal researchers to verify 14,635 debtors’ assets of Indonesian SMEs totaling hundreds of millions of US dollars, concentrated in 5 provinces (based in Medan, Lampung, Jakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya). Advised and worked closely with the PPA management, supplied daily reports through an integrated on-line IT system, and submitted a final report for use in PPA’s strategic planning.

Planned, directed and coordinated national research on alternative dispute resolution for Indonesian fishermen with the pilot projects in North Sumatera (as representation to West Indonesia) and South Sulawesi (representation of East Indonesia). Lead research team of fishing experts, law professors and senior researchers to decipher the root causes of conflict among fishermen and then suggested means to resolve the conflict through alternative dispute resolution. Also led joint research initiatives with the University of North Sumatera in Medan and University of Hasanudin in Makassar, established fisheries-related-conflict resolution agencies there, and worked closely with fishermen associations and non-government organizations (NGOs) in the regions especially for data’s collection. Made presentations of the research result before local and central governments and submitted a final report which contributed to national policy on alternative dispute resolution of fisheries.

Managed Indonesia’s worldwide tourism promotion efforts, placing particular emphasis on key markets such as Singapore, Australia, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan and the US. Worked closely with all Indonesian tourism associations such as Association of Indonesian Travel Agent (ASITA), Indonesia Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), Association of Indonesian Tourism Attraction (PUTRI), Pacific-Asia Travel Association’s (PATA) Indonesia Chapter, etc. Together with the Ministry for Culture and Tourism, invited intermediaries and domestic tourism players to participate in world tourism events, including the biggest trade shows in Berlin (ITB) and London (WTM). Advised the central and local governments on tourism strategies and worked together to boost up Indonesia’s tourism revenues, resulting in an increase of international visitors’ spending from $4.4 billion in 1998 to $5.7 billion in 2001.
