Performing Arts and Non-Profit Executive/Consultant
Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area
I position and build, successfully structuring organizational thinking about environmental realities to identify possibilities and to craft and implement coherent strategies in the service of missions and visions.
When individuals and organizations understand the universe of the credits and debits that make up their bottom lines they have options. Options = freedom. Freedom = power.
When necessary, I can do it all: hands-on, performing arts and nonprofit management; mission, vision, and product articulation; strategic planning; accounting and auditing; project and operational budgeting; marketing and public relations; fundraising; building administrative and governance capacity.
I have produced professional dance performances for three companies at 300+ domestic and international venues, including seven New York City engagements.
I understand the risks and rewards of the marketplace for the arts and politics from attending conferences and performing events in 22 cities under the aegis of Dance/USA, Arts Midwest, Southern Arts Federation, and GALA Choruses; from political dialogue in municipal, state, and national campaigns; and from my print and broadcast news reporting and interviews.
My perspectives from the private sector provide a competitive edge: law office management; legislative and administrative lobbying; multi-district antitrust and securities litigation; newspaper management and advertising sales; retail customer service and sales.
Servant leadership. Critical analysis of operating and project plans; budgets and assumptions; and marketing/development/communications strategies.
Member of 19 grant review panels for Minnesota State Arts Board, Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, and Jerome Foundation, 1999-2009.

Ananya Dance Theatre is a company of women artists of color who create original works inspired by the passion of women working for social justice around the world. The aesthetic blends the sculptural forms, strong footwork, and emotional articulation of the classical Odissi style, the purity of line and release of breath of yoga, the efficiency and awareness of Indian martial arts traditions, the abstract theatrics of Indian rituals, and the urgent energy of street theater.
