Creation of manual fail over system for 2 pSeries 650’s AIX systems utilising HACMP methodologies, with the service being booted from SAN. These are geographically separated using WAN and VPN technologies. Writing of shell scripts plays a large part in this assignment, as does understanding network switching etc. I have set both systems to be TSM clients, and automated their backup accordingly.
The main aim of this system is to run the Globus banking system, which I have installed and configured along with associated software such as Oracle client, MQ series etc.
In accordance with the customer specification, I have produced a 170 page manual, documenting the complete installation. -

Identification, Justification and specification of upgrade of hardware from PSSP to pSeries using HMC for system managment.I was also tasked with an Investigation into feasibility of introducing HAGEO and GeoRM.
Preceding the purchase of the pSeries 615 and 630 systems I was tasked with documenting the LPAR system, and partitioning their 630 for the AIX portion of the team. -
