Retraining tax credits, strategic advice, training programs ... and novels!
Greater Atlanta Area
CPA and Chartered Accountant (UK), former M&A principal, running my own business since 2006 and finding lots of new things to do. In addition to helping businesses obtain millions of dollars of training-related state income tax credits and delivering extensive training and strategic consulting to a major CPA firm, I have performed start-up CFO, strategic consulting, information memorandum and other financial services.
I enjoy a balance of using my expertise to help others and taking on new, sometimes scary challenges, and I hope that I will continue to be amazed at the opportunities that present themselves when I approach situations with an open mind.
I have also been writing novels since 2003, and am soon to put out my first (The Grace of Guilt); I expect a second to follow within the year. My 2008 accomplishments are: hiking up Half Dome; seeing Elvis Costello at the Ryman; watching the Kirov Ring Cycle at the Met; and being ordained a Zen Priest.
Tax credits (esp. retraining), cost saving, Alpharesults, training, facilitation, leadership forums, development of training materials, curriculum, CPE, business cases and business plans, M&A, due diligence, strategy, information memorandum preparation, start-ups, entrepreneurial skills, accounting and finance (CPA and Chartered Accountant). Also creative writing, novels, publishing-on-demand, and spirituality, zen and interfaith

Helps businesses of all sizes to identify, quantify, document, and file for retraining tax credits that can be substantial, in some instances resulting in a refund of 50% of Georgia state income tax paid within the last three years (if combined with the jobs tax credit, in which Alpharesults also specializes, the taxpayer can sometimes realize a credit of the full amount of income tax paid/payable). Typically our clients are:
* Unaware of these tax credits
* Frustrated by the complexity of meeting the requirements of the credits
* Overwhelmed by the resources and costs required to file for these credits
We maximize the tax credits while minimizing the risk, resources, and costs associated with obtaining them. In tough economic times, this can be of enormous value to clients.

Team Transformation, beginning with an online assessment, and followed by a program anchored on a non-competitive, fun board game to be played by teams of 4-6 that collaboratively and engagingly helps team members identify and cherish diversity. Ideal for all teams, and for all stages of the forming/ storming/ norming/ performing continuum. The program, by ongoing use of the assessment, measures progress

finanSight serves the following markets:
1) Second tier CPA firms: Lead the design, development, and in-housing of a standardized, curriculum-based firm-wide training program. Additionally we lead and facilitate strategic visioning among leadership teams.
2) GA Retraining Tax Credits: Work with small/midsized private businesses, to obtain retraining tax credits that can be substantial. Typically we work with companies who are unaware they qualify for these credits and lack the resources to independently claim them. Partner with Alpharesults.
3) Start-Ups: Provide a wide range of services, from basic accounting and organization, financial modeling, development of funding documentation and plans, to strategic, operational, and general business advice. We only work with a small number of businesses, select only those in which we believe, and partner closely as a member of the core team.

I have several novels published and soon to be published:
- The Grace of Guilt, scheduled for publication in 4/09 (on Amazon and Kindle) is set in a radically fundamentalist community in the rural South. It follows the destruction of three families and their quests for redemption, and examines the old prejudice of the new South.
- Banana Split Baby, scheduled for publication in late 2009, considers the uncomfortable coexistence of sexual puritanism in modern society and the prurience of the media, and follows the destruction of a middle aged man's life when he is tempted by the possibilities of illicit promiscuity.
Other works in progress include a futuristic thriller and a non-fiction book under the working title, "Meditation must Work."
