Psychologist, BPsych (Hons), PhD (Clinical Psychology)
Adelaide Area, Australia
Completed my PhD in 2006 in the area of psychological recovery following heart attack and as a result have well developed research and evaluation skills. In addition I have clinical training in cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and motivational interviewing and an interest in a range of other psychotherapeutic approaches. I am currently working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health in the Research and Evaluation Unit, assisting clinicians in developing research programs in the context of their clinical work. As part of that work, I am involved in developing a clinical research program around relationship-based therapies for children and their caregivers.
I have an ongoing interest in the internet and how it can be used to assist Psychologists in their professional development. I regularly use and promote RSS (Really Simple Syndication) as part of my work. I also run an online community called the Psychology and Health Forum which emphasizes the use of the web as a networking tool for psychologists in my local area. Through my work on the web, I have made some great contacts and currently serve on the International Advisory Board over at CounsellingResource.com and as an Affiliate at MedWorm.com.
I hope through LinkedIn to meet with psychologists and web-developers interested in developing web applications for my industry.
