Through the HP acquisition of Opsware.
Was apart of the product that is now called Operations Orchestration (had a different name at Opsware and iConclude). Which competes in the Runbook Automation area.
I made a small C program that would execute command line operation. And feed the data into our java app via stdout. Also was responsible for our 'Scheduler' component, which is hooked up through Quartz and allows users to schedule when to run certain operations.
Worked on various other small, but critical components of our product. Including integrating with an internal Opsware product, expanding some of our external API's and various other back end jobs.
