Multi-discipline Web Developer
Reading, United Kingdom
I'm a freelance web developer with 10+ years experience creating websites. The majority of my skill set lays within coding, rather than design.
My goal is to be doing freelance work for various companies, allowing me to work within a variety of environments and with different colleagues. I'm equally happy doing subcontracting work as doing work directly for my own clients. I want to create sites that "work" - not just from a technical perspective, but also in relation to the client's needs and expectations from the site.
Previously, I was a secondary school teacher (maths and IT), and then taught and managed in the prison system. This gave me experience in working with a wide range of people having an equally wide range of IT competency.
HTML, XHTML, CSS, Classic ASP, PHP, SQL, user interfaces, accessibility, usability, WordPress, JavaScript/jQuery.
Some OOP principles, aspects of configuring web servers, XML.
Basic knowledge of Zend Framework.
