I just cut a Behind-the-Scenes piece for the feature Freeway Killer, to be used as a bonus supplement on the DVD.
Talk about killer footage!

Kyra Groves directed "Getting In 101." It's shot on the Red One camera. The footage is quite nice, as is her performance in the lead as a woman bopping around Purgatory... looking for loopholes to expedite her reincarnation back on Earth. Sort of a hip-hop Heaven Can Wait.

Just finished cutting Kerosene Cowboys, a feature starring Cam ("Twilight") Giganet, Bill Pullman and Mario Van Peebles, also directed by Mario.

Cathy Cahn brought me her film "Sick Chick" to cut. We've been working on it off & on for a while, as her time permits. Sick Chick is about her own experiences receiving a lung transplant... and it's a comedy! (Think Chayefsky's "Hospital" from a patient's P.O.V.)
Addendum: Sadly, Cathy passed away just a few days after the screening at SAG. What a great gal, I'll miss her. The making of this movie really kept her going during her last few months. Hopefully Sick Chick will be seen on the festival circuit.

Tim Swain produced an indie feature that I cut called "Black & Blue." Canadian pop composer/performer Christine Evans stars in her first lead role as an abused runaway who hooks up with other teens on the mean streets of LA.
We locked picture in December 2008. Tim has asked for a few MPAA-related revisions to target PG-13 viewers.

"The Paint Job" is about an ascetic guy whose job is to paint traffic markings. His life is turned upside down by a free spirit-type who shows up unexpectedly at his home. Dieter produced & directed a very sweet piece, which I suspect will be a hit on the short film festivals.

George helmed a documentary called "Hollywood UFOs." I edited the bonus material: an interview with science fiction legend Forrest J. Ackerman. Sadly "Forry" is now gone, but he pursued the subject (even coining the term "sci-fi") since the genre's Golden Age which began in 1937.
Forry was a writer, literary agent, editor, fanatic memorabilia collector and raconteur extraordinaire. I'm privileged to have known him. Forry regaled me with stories about the original King Kong (1933) for my own documentary on Kong's pioneering stop-motion animator. (see "Creation: The Lost Worlds of Willis O'Brien" elsewhere in my bio. Trailer: http://www.vimeo.com/4069717)
George works professionally as an FX expert specializing in miniature model & prop construction. Very nice & talented guy!!!

Edited the novelty music videos "10,000 THC" & "I Love to Fart" by Dos Spanish Flies, two hilarious standup comics/musicians who specialize in extremely silly behavior. The kind of material you hear on The Doctor Demento Show....
Ron and Eric are great guys... highly creative and open to collaboration.

Edited "Let's Do," a music video by composer/artist Cynthia Sexton. As heard on KCRW in LA.
Thea plays the cello like a guitar (including shoulder strap). Her style is whimsical, romantic, jazzy... sort of like Joni Mitchell's middle period in spirit. Her compositions are unique.

Editor for Schenectday, a short film made for the 168 Hour Film Project (http://www.168project.com), an artistic challenge in which the filmmakers literally write, shoot and cut the final piece within the allotted hours.
Dane's piece was a pleasure to cut. It's a comedic story about an earthbound alien, fired from his terrestrial job by his home planet. He's stuck on Earth "with bad credit and no ride."
Note: HD footage.

Wish I could erase this crap from my IMDB profile! I have nothing complimentary to say about Cine Excel. As any budding filmmaker would do in my place, I jumped at the chance to edit & direct features... hoping to make a flawed pearl out of a rotting sow's ear. This is what young filmmakers did at Roger Corman's studio. The difference is that Cine Excel's "studio" was literally a sweltering garage -- and their flix made Corman's look like epic masterpieces.
In retrospect, I found the company's attitude towards filmmaking to be offensive. Cine Excel cranks out underbudgeted trash that's devoid of any redeeming values; the least of all creativity. They just glom onto the latest B-move fad and tries to exploit it without any sense of cleverness... or even simple comprehensibility! (Their movies are WITLESS -- but not in a funny way, like Ed Wood's work). What a fucking albatross.
