Technology writer/editor/consultant
Washington D.C. Metro Area
I'm a technology consultant/writer/editor -- the words work in any order!
I advise small businesses on positioning, marketing, and business development.
I wrote extensively for AARP's Computers and Technology Web site and provided problem solutions and advice on their Web board; I now contribute to other boomer/senior-oriented publications such as Compu-KISS and the Guide to Retirement Living Sourcebook. I wrote for the Washington Post personal technology section for six+ years; I've contributed to newsletters from Computer Economics, Inc. in Carlsbad, CA and EEI in Alexandria, VA; and, for decades, many computer-oriented trade publications. I co-authored three McGraw-Hill technology books. I edited and primarily wrote an IBM technology magazine highlighting use of its product lines for a CxO audience.
I develop/write compelling corporate messages, converting techno-babble into clear success stories which motivate action; I exploit press opportunities as a technical/industry expert. I've managed customer and user group relations, serving as technical and company spokesman.
I'm a frequent conference speaker/organizer.
I'm a committed volunteer and leader with Capital PC User Group (CPCUG), the Washington, DC area's 25-year old organization dedicated to helping people use and benefit from all sorts of technologies. The group's motto is "Users helping users".
If you have untold success stories or unsatisfied corporate goals -- let's talk!
